(Chapter - 1) Unit 2 Energy Audit Need of Energy Audit, Types of energy audit, Energy audit methodology, Energy audit instruments, Analysis and recommendations of energy audit, Benchmarking, Energy audit reporting, Introduction to software and simulation for energy auditing, Current Energy Conservation Act and Electricity Act and its features. (Chapter - 2) Unit 3 Energy Economics Costing of Utilities (Numerical) : Determination of the cost of steam, fuels, compressed air and electricity Financial Analysis Techniques (Numerical) : Simple payback, Time value of money, Net Present Value (NPV), Return on Investment (ROI), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Risk and Sensitivity analysis, Energy performance contracts and role of ESCOs. (Chapter - 3) Unit 4 Evaluation of Thermal Utilities Energy performance opportunities and assessment of Boilers and Furnaces (Numerical on direct method), Heat exchangers, Cooling towers, DG sets, Fans & blowers, Pumps, Compressors, Compressed air systems and HVAC systems. Waste Heat Recovery : Classification, Application, Concept of Pinch analysis, Potential of WHR in Industries, Commercial WHR devices, saving potential, CDM projects and carbon credit calculations.
